the frame of the shining towards the end that shows Jack Nicholson frozen really caught me off guard like just a still image of the man frozen to death pasted at the end of the movie, no cinematic end off. it kinda reminded me of like creepypasta shit which is really funny because through the generational pipeline im tracing back those influences in time

its a great movie, highly recommend, don't wanna say the birthplace of a lot of tropes but i did wanna comment on jack nicholson's tone towards the end of the movie i noticed was very Jim Carrey-esque and made me think if the performance wouldve been more genuine and scary if i didn't have that association.

also when he yells at his wife, it reminded me a lot of Walter White doing so in breaking bad, except that most of the time Walter White isn't actually taken seriously when he's pissed off, he has his moments where he's obvious serious but like "i am the one who knocks" really felt like something that jack torrence would say had he been a lot more egotistical
