it so does not get the point of smart home

when has pressing a light switch ever been a bother ? why do you need to know your fridges temperature at all times , it should be what you set on the dial and always be around that ? why do you need your thermostat to guess what temperature you need it to be right now , its literally a knob you can just turn , and if its taking too long , wear a comfy jacket ?

why do you need a notification when your washing machine is done ? like , 1) thats what one has a watch for , 2) your clothes arent gonna explode from being in the washer a little longer , 3) hopefully you were going to hang and iron them anyways!!

@reia i honestly only have it setup because im lazy and like turning my lights off (or adjusting their brightness and temperature) via my phone when im on the sofa or in bed but its mostly larp and for the sake of having a fun little project, kind of like homelabbing, than it actually giving me any real utility
