@autumn ansible is funny to me idk if thats because ive already found nix but its tries to like make a system declarative by just running a bunch of commands to install stuff and configure stuff and like either you run that every time or you cant guarantee that a given machine won't be modified manually
@chfour yeah kinda because it runs on every distro and the point you made about "you don't know if it's already been changed" like it's able to detect that and stuff lol. it's a step above just using shell scripts but nixos is a fundamentally different thing that achieves the declarative nature a lot better because its built from the ground up to do that while ansible is just like a. thing that does that with conventional distros
