they really didn't need to stick science on the end of that did they 😭😭😭😭 you could just say "im doing a course in computing/computers" "i work with computers" or if youre a wanker "I'm working in Informations Technologies"

i mean back when it became a thing it was more of a science... all sorts of discoveries being made in CPUs and stuff... i guess we kinda do that now too, its just that rn its more about LLMs rather than CPU design (not that thats not being worked on lol)

@lulu @autumn cpu design involves a fairly large theoretical framework that doesnt necessarily intersect with the electrical engineering needed to physicalize it

@lulu @autumn stuff like microoperation scheduling, speculation, and the general concept of pipelining comes to mind, where those things still matter on paper even before you set about assigning them lanes and logic levels, and would still matter if your cpu was implemented in, say, javascript
