@autumn the way i did it is go through grep -r 'oldusername' . in my configs, change all the occurrences and then on the new user i forced uid=1000 bc thats what i had already. then i copied over all the stuff from /home/oldusername to my new home dir
@autumn i forgot the name of the tool but i basically wanted to make sure there were no mentions of that username in my git history. so in the end it kind of looked like the username was there from the beginning
