anyone running gnome have this issue where you have 2 media players? one for the actual app and the other that's controlled by your media keys?

@karebu so i have 2 sources playing media, 3 media players there. if i use the media keys then it'll play/pause whatevers currently playing, and then if i play something from another add, the media player will switch to that, and then that becomes the thing i can control with my media keys

@autumn but it seems you have a volume thing above that so im assuming y ou moved the media controls to the quick settings so maybe its the extension

@karebu wow so disabling extensions didn't work, but then logging out with disabled extensions fixed it. it's back to only 1 now

@autumn yeah there's no stable gnome extensions api or anything its straight up javascript patches so things can break badly across versions

@karebu i don't even want to know how this happened i think i've had this install for too damn long, something is beginning to smell rotten in the millions of ~/.{folder}s that every application creates for no reason
