@fiore @autumn im not american lol

but it's more or less because they're the lowest common denominator of edibility

like if im out in an unfamiliar region and i have to choose between a random local rundown cafe (i literally know nothing about what they're doing in the kitchen) and a fast food chain (they most likely do more or less the same thing they do absolutely anywhere else on earth with some slight local specifics)

im picking the latter, even if it theoretically costs me some charm lol

@fiore @autumn like mcdonalds """left""" russia

and the new owner totally could change everything about how they do things, but he just didn't

they already make food in the most cost efficient way possible without technically breaking the law at any point

so the only changes were in branding lol

@halva @fiore i dont think its that, its probably just familiarity. like it sucks but people are more likely to go to something they recognise than something they don't.

like if there was a massive chain of italian restaurants then someone from abroad would go there in italy than a local place even if it would be better in every way
