i think it's funny beria was loathed by the entirety of soviet leadership, so much so that the moment stalin died they got rid of him

like, absolutely EVERYBODY from generals to civil officials held him in absolute contempt and only tolerated him because he was stalin's protege in the NKVD

oh, and if you think it's just because he was one of the people responsible for the great purge (alongside Yagoda and Yezhov), he was also a serial rapist with over a hundred of accounts, and wasn't above using minors
