do emulators come out for nintendo consoles because quicker because there are just so many more people working on it than playstation/xbox or if it's genuinely easier (not counting the switch 1 with it's fucking launch day hardware exploit they Fucked up there)

i know there's little incentive for modern xbox because of developer mode and no exclusives that aren't on windows, but playstation? nobody wants to play. i guess all of the exclusives before they came out on PC (detroit become human, last of us, ghosts of tsushima)

@autumn i mean there's not a whole point to emulating an xbox one, and anything other than that is weird and cursed and extremely fucking convoluted

while a switch is literally just an android tablet running custom firmware, it's not overly well documented, but it's still easy enough for a bunch of enthusiasts to make sense of, and there's a bunch of games that only run there to pursue

@halva i'm more wondering about nintendo as a whole though, over the years there have been so many ways to homebrew a wii, 3ds etc, like is that all effort on the community or is nintendo just Worst at security

@halva i guess it's probably a bit of both, nintendo aren't a massive media conglomerate or one of the most valuable tech companies in the world so any effort is exclusive to their one console and doesn't apply to a whole fleet of things (like i've been told the xbox 360's security has)

considering that nintendo is the one with the marios and zeldas and pokemons and stuff , people want that shit anywhere else
but also because they seem to use like more """Standard""" in a sense ig . arm shit everyone already emulating arm just gotta figure out the nintendo specific bits ( see how the ps3 and xbox 360 are doing quite well in terms of emulation as well since afaik they're Kinda similar too in that regard , people are still figuring out ps4 and xbox one because they're fucking Whole Ass PCs and drmed to hell and stuff
