i feel like in all the history (mostly cold war stuff) ive learnt its always been like, the US and Europe (at least Western for a majority) has been allied and now its all sort of dismantling in the present day. and in some history books theyre gonna talk about the Vance Munich Speech just like they spoke about the Iron Curtain speech.
